How to install the Sig M17 Caliber X-Change Kit?
- Step 1: Remove the magazine and clear the chamber.
- Step 2: Disassemble the pistol by removing the slide assembly, from the Fire controls unit (FCU) and Grip Module. Lock the slide to the rear and rotate the takedown lever to the down position. Then Grab the slide and slowly pull it back then forward to remove the slide from the frame (FCU & Grip Module)
- Step 3: Remove the FCU from the Grip Module. With the takedown lever in the down position from the other side of the lever (side opposite the lever) push the lever out of the grip module.
- Step 4: Remove the FCU (Metal piece in the grip module) by pushing it forward towards the front of the grip module. This can be difficult sometimes as the grip and FCU can be a tight fit. Sometimes by pushing the back of the trigger forward you can help get things moving.
- Step 5: Re-Assembly with the new M17 Conversion kit. Put the FCU that you removed from your old grip into the grip provided with the Caliber X-Change Kit
- Step 6: Once the FCU is in the new Grip Module put the takedown lever back in the opposite of how you took it out in Step 3
- Step 7: Once the FCU is secure in the new Grip Module ensure the takedown lever is in the down position. You can install the new Slide onto the Frame (FCU & Grip module) to ensure the barrel and recoil assembly are in the proper orientation when you install. put the slide onto the rails and pull it all the way back and lock it back with the slide lock.
- Step 8: Rotate the takedown lever up (parallel to the slide)
- Step 9: While holding the slide pull back lightly to release the slide lock and allow the slide to go forward.
- Step 10: do a function check according to the owner’s manual
